Ractopamine ELISA kitrequest-ifu

Description
96T Competitive Enzyme immunoassay

 Product Code
BXEFT11A 96 tests

Assay Principle
Competitive Enzyme immunoassay

Total Assay time
20 minutes

Assay Protocol
Prepare calibrators/samples and then pipette both along with enzyme conjugate onto appropriate premixing wells using the microtiter plate and mix with multichannel pipette. Transfer the mixed reagents to microtiter plate coated with anti-ractopamine antibodies and incubate for 10mins at RT (20°C – 25°C). Wash plate 3 times and add prepared substrate solution followed by a further 10mins incubation at RT. The reaction is stopped by addition of stop solution and absorbance measured at 450nm.

Calibration Range
0 – 5ppb

Samples
Feed, Urine, Raw milk

Sensitivity (cut off)

Sample Sensitivity (cut off)
Urine 0.75 ppb
Raw milk 0.15 ppb
Feed 3 ppb

Other methods for liver and muscle available upon requests

Sample Preparation

Ractopamine ELISA kit

Ractopamine hydrochloride is a growth promoter and is pharmacologically classified as a phenethanolamine β-adrenoceptor agonist. The metabolic fate of Ractopamine hydrochloride is similar in the target species (pigs and cattle), laboratory animals and humans. Ractopamine makes livestock grow faster with leaner meat and less fat deposition. The livestock demonstrate higher feed efficiency which means that they produce more meat from the same amount of feed. Livestock treated with Ractopamine can suffer significant adverse health effects. They are the opposite of the more familiar beta blockers which slow the heart rate. Beta agonists such as Ractopamine speed the animal’s heart rate mimicking stress hormones.
